Oh Jesus.
Just now, I was sitting at my computer, reading blogs and minding my own business when the sound of an airplane drew my attention out the window directly in front of me. Flying behind the small airplane was a huge banner and on that banner was what I assume was an aborted fetus and the words "This is Roe vs. Wade." I feel sick.

That is horrifying. I am sure the people who display those images have no idea what they do to grieving mothers like us. I encountered those assholes on campus one day last fall yelling about how we were killing our babies. (i think i had just started to blog, so i blogged about it). I called the cops & they were kicked off campus. Heh.
I'm not sure what you can do about an AIRPLANE but there must be someone to complain to. Letter to the editor, maybe? it had to take off from an airport somewhere, right? And with an airplane like that, children could easily see those images. What if your stepdaughter had seen it? Like she isn't scarred enough?? Heck, *I* will write the letter to the editor FOR you if you want!
Last year, about this time, I recieved a newsletter in my mailbox about partial birth abortions, put out my the local pro-life group. I really wanted to respond in some way (besides the obvious of the grief and depression and the insanity of putting it in every mailbox in the city, there was false information in the pamphlet).
I didn't respond. I didn't have the energy. And the whole issue sapped more and more energy out of me. I wish I had known Catherine, so that I could have had her write my letter, too... :)
I am SOOOOOO sorry that we have to see this stuff. I am especially sorry that you had to see it today. I know I have enough thoughts of dead babies in my mind that I don't need extra input from simply glancing out my window.
Yeah, don't even get me started on "partial-birth abortion". Don't-EVEN-GET-ME-STARTED.....
I just don't understand why anyone thinks that showing that kind of shit is okay. I just don't. There are better ways to prove their point. That is certainly not it.
I'm so sorry. What a crappy thing to see.
